The Faculty of Creative Industries at the University of South Wales has a long established and successful group of film and media-related courses. The Faculty is home to Film and TV School Wales, the largest provider of screen industries education in Wales. This post represents an opportunity for the Faculty to build further its expertise in the specific area of film and screen content production and to better engage with educational needs of students and the training needs of the screen industries in Wales and across the UK.
Based at our USW campus, this role will provide you with the opportunity to utilise your range of film production skills that may include directing, editing, camera and sound equipment in unscripted film and television production. We are actively seeking staff who can demonstrate recent industry-focused expertise and contacts.
Reporting to Academic Subject Manager, Film, this Lecturer role specifically includes expertise within factual screen production and the skills required to deliver broadcast/distribution quality unscripted content, as well as experience of delivering high quality film-based curriculum that combines both theory and practice.
We are therefore looking for a proactive individual who is skilled in collaborative working, able to contribute effectively to and motivate a relatively large team of experienced staff, and to understand and commit to improving student engagement and experience.
This is a full time permanent position. Benefits on offer include 35 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and closure days, family friendly policies and generous pension scheme.
