The Centre for Automotive & Power Systems Engineering (CAPSE) is an internationally recognised independent research, development, test, and certification house, with a reputation for cutting edge research and knowledge transfer activities within the advanced automotive and power systems engineering sectors.
Based at Llwydcoed, Aberdare, the CAPSE Principal Engineer will be expected to support the delivery of significant levels of commercial programmes and knowledge transfer activities to a number of leading organisations, businesses and sectors on a local, national and international level.
The CAPSE Principal Engineer is a demanding senior management and technical specialist role. The successful candidate will have a highly respected and significant knowledge of research and engineering associated with the low-carbon automotive and renewable energy sectors from a technical point of view, with a track record of developing complex technical programmes of work as well as deploying such activities themselves for multi-disciplinary engineering projects with significant financial and strategic value. The successful candidate must have significant experience of leading technical programmes of work, especially in relation to the development of new energy storage solutions for the stationary and automotive sector, with a major focus on battery technologies. Management experience, with an ability to guide multi-skilled teams including research, technical, administrative and financial type roles is also essential. They should also be willing to support wider academic duties such as PhD student supervision.
This is a full time, permanent position.
