The First Campus Team at the University of South Wales, is seeking to appoint a First Campus Officer to deliver the First Campus Adult and Vulnerable Groups Strand activities programme. First Campus is a HEFCW funded Reaching Wider partnership programme between University of South Wales, Cardiff Metropolitan and Cardiff University.
Based at Pontypridd, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual responsible for developing and managing the implementation and delivery of an activities programme for the Vulnerable Groups (care-experienced young people and carers) and Adults strands. Excellent networking, collaboration and practitioner skills and experience are required as the work includes collaborating with the USW Widening Participation team, academic staff and students and a range of partners and key stakeholders in communities around South East Wales to establish the First Campus brand and build and manage the delivery of an activites porgramme. Strong organisational and communication skills are required to undertake budget management; professional advice and guidance on First Campus process and procedure and gather, input and analyse data. Reflection is also important for effective programme evaluation.

This is a full-time fixed term post to 31st July 2022* and the post-holder will be expected to work across campuses and partnership HEIs when required. Please note post-holder may be required to work weekends and evenings on occasions.
*All First Campus posts are fixed term, subject to confirmation of future funding from the funding council. As such, there may be opportunity to extend the contract but this cannot be guaranteed at this time.
If you are a successful candidate and this position will be your first professional services role at the University (or you are currently employed by PSS Ltd), you will be employed by Professional and Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges. If you are an internal professional services candidate, you will continue to be employed by the University of South Wales.
