The University of South Wales Wellbeing and Disability Service is looking to increase its pool of experienced counsellors. The Counsellors will work closely with a variety of the Wellbeing Service team, and the Manager of the service. The successful applicants will provide counselling and one-to-one support to students in a face-to-face environment across the university’s campuses and remotely. This position will provide you with a role where you can utilise your range of counselling and interpersonal skills.
Applicants will need to have an HE qualification and a relevant professional qualification and also membership of the appropriate professional body i.e., BACP and have significant relevant experience as a professional counsellor, in an education or a community-based setting. An understanding of the difficulties facing students with mental health conditions in an HE context is essential.
