Founded by industry and the professions, the University of South Wales, with around 25,000 students is one of Britain’s most exciting new universities and a major player in higher education.
The IT Services department is on exciting evolution path to become a well-connected and innovative department, that delivers real business value. The department has adopted a hybrid work environment (home and office) and therefore requirement to attend campus will be limited. The USW IT Services Information Security Team is responsible for ensuring that the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the university’s data and information processing infrastructure is maintained.
Based at Pontypridd, this opportunity will provide you with a role where you can utilise your broad range of technical, analytical, and information security skills.
The role is integral to how the Information Security Team ensure that USW’s colleagues, students, data, and systems are kept safe. You will perform the initial triage and analysis of information security alerts; either resolving them or escalating and assisting other Information Security Team members in their resolution. You will also assist with major incident responses.
You will also gain exposure to, and participation in information security related projects and process improvements.
This is a full time, permanent post.
The university is currently operating a hybrid-model of working.
