The Faculty of Life Sciences and Education is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Lecturer, experienced and qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, to take on the role of Course Leader for our Post Graduate Diploma / Master’s in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and to support the continued development of the University’s cognitive behavioural therapies provision.

This is an opportunity to make an important contribution to cognitive behavioural therapies training in South Wales, joining a vibrant and enthusiastic team. This course is one of a range of psychotherapeutic programmes at the university and is housed in purpose built teaching and clinical accommodation at Newport City Campus.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, registered with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in learning, teaching and professional practice, and will preferably have previous experience of teaching in Higher or Further Education.
You will be expected to use your clinical skills in group work and supervision and play a key role in identifying and contributing to the academic management of suitable clinical placements and have leadership role in coordinating practice based learning in accordance with the learning requirements of the programme.
You will lead the course student recruitment and student experience processes, such as fitness to practice, complaints and quality assurance) in collaboration and coordination with the course team and university support service. In addition, you will need to demonstrate an interest in pursuing your own areas of research.
This position is based at Newport Campus of the University of South Wales.
